Bichitrananda Swain

An exceptional performer, instructor and choreographer, Guru Sri Bichitrananda Swain has emerged as one of the leading gurus of Odissi. He has been a pioneering member of the Orissa Dance Academy. He was trained in the "Gotipua" tradition of Odissi under the maestro Guru Gangadhar Pradhan. He also received training at the Odissi Research Center under renowned Gurus like Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, Guru Pankaj Charan Das and Guru Ramani Ranjan Jena. He has served as a visiting instructor at Nrityagram, Bangalore and the Principal and Chief Instructor at Orissa Dance Academy. Currently he is the Founder-Director of Rudrakshya, Bhubaneswar. He has extensively travelled both in India and abroad and has performed in many countries such as USA, Canada, and United Kingdom. He has toured USA three times with his troupe. Under his guidance Rudrakshya has emerged as a leading institute for Odissi in India.

Yudhistir Nayak

Yudhisthir Nayak was initiated in the "Gotipua" tradition of Odissi at the age of seven. He began his training in Odissi dance at the age of fifteen under the tutelage of Guru Bichitrananda Swain and Guru Sri Gangadhar Pradhan. He has received the senior national scholarship for young talents by the ministry of Human Resource Development in India. He has been assisting Guru Bichitrananda Swain in a number of new choreographies. He has been trained in classical Odissi singing, Odissi mardal (percussion or Odissi Drum) and Chhau Dance. He has performed quite extensively in India, Canada and the USA. He was a teacher-in-residence at the Center for World Music in San Diego, California from 2005 through 2007.

Pabitra Kumar Pradhan

Pabitra Kumar Pradhan was initiated as a "gotipua" dancer under the able guidance of Guru Mahadev Rout. Later he received training in Odissi at Nrityagram, Bangalore established by Protima Gauri Bedi. He has received further training at Orissa Dance Academy under Guru Bichitrananda Swain and Guru Gangadhar Pradhan. He is a recipient of Senior National Scholarship from the Government of India. He has performed widely over the major cities and dance festivals in India and several countries abroad such as USA, UK, Canada, Korea, and Bangladesh.

Lingaraj Pradhan

Lingaraj Pradhan started his training at the age of fifteen at the Orissa Dance Academy under Guru Bichitrananda Swain and Guru Gangadhar Pradhan. Currently he is one of the upcoming artists at Rudrakshya. He has completed his Masters in Music in Odissi Dance from Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya and is also the recipient of National Scholarship from the Government of India. He has performed in almost all the major cities and dance festivals of India. He has also the privilege of performing at many leading classical dance festivals abroad. He has worked as a visiting faculty at Chitralekha Dance Company in Toronto, Canada.

Amulya Kumar Balabantray

Amulya Kumar Balabantaray started his initial training as a "gotipua" dancer under the able guidance of Guru Bijay Kumar Sahoo. He was groomed under the direct supervision of Guru Gangadhar Pradhan at Orissa Dance Academy. Currently he is one of the upcoming artists at Rudrakshya. He is the recipient of Senior National Scholarship from the Government of India. He has performed at major dance festivals of India like Konark Dance Festival, Odissi Festival, Mamallapuram Festival, Natyanjali Festival, Odissi Sandhya, Megha Utsav, Mukteswar Dance Festival, etc. He also had the privilege of performing at many leading classical dance festivals abroad.

Gouri Shanker Dash

Gouri Shankar started the journey of dance at a very tender age under the guidance of Guru Shree Padma Charan Dehury. He was nurtured carefully by Guru Subash Charan Swain and his talent was refined futher by the renowed Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. He was awarded the esteemed National Scholarship for Odissi Dance by Government of India. He received advanced training under Guru Naba Kishore Mishra. This inborn talent was ornamented by the able tutelage of Guru Shree Bichitrananda Swain and the journey has continued. He has participated in numerous states, national and international level performances and has been highly appreciated for his magical spell of dance.

Mamata Das

Groomed to be a dancer at a tender age of eight at Orissa Dance Academy under the guidance of Guru Gangadhar Pradhan and Guru Kanduri Charan Behera, Mamata Das had the privilege of receiving training from the great maestro Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra at Srjan. She has received the Senior National Scholarship from the Government of India. Currently she is working as an instructor in Odissi dance at YMCA, Bhubaneswar and also participates under the supervision of Song and Drama Divisio of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, which is the cultural mouthpiece of the Government of India. She has participated in major dance festivals like Konark Dance Festival, Odissi Nrityotsava, Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, Puri Beach Festival, Kal-ke-kalakar Sammelan, Mumbai, Kharavela mahotsava, etc. She has performed at many of premier dance festivals in Italy and USA.

Sanjukta Dutta

A promising dancer of her generation, Sanjukta Dutta has shown her talents from her childhood. She started her initial training at the age of nine under the discerning guidance of Guru Yudhisthir Nayak and Guru Gangadhar Pradhan at Orissa Dance Academy. Currently pursuing her Masters in Music at Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Bhubaneswar, she has been awarded the Senior National Scholarship from the Government of India. She has travelled all over India and participated in major festivals such as National Festival of New Choreographies in New Delhi, Kalidas Samaroh in Ujjain, Konark Dance Festival, Puri Beach festivals. She has performed solo at Sangeet Natak Akademi, Bhubaneswar and has won accolades in various competitions.

Arupa Gayatri Panda

Arupa Gayatri Panda was initiated into dance at the tender age of three by Guru Pusparanjan Mangaraj at Nrutyanjali. She received further training from Guru Sarita Mishra in the Guru Deba Prasad Das's style of Odissi dance. She has been training under her current Guru Madhusmita Mohanty, Guru Gangadhar Pradhan at Orissa Dance Academy and by renowned dancer Aruna Mohanty. She has performed widely in many prestigious festivals throughout India such as The Konark Dance and Music Festival, Utkal Divas, Puri Beach Festivals. She toured USA and abroad with Nrityagram, the prestigious dance institute founded by the late Pratima Gauri Bedi, in 2005. She has earned many accolades and awards for her dance such as the Junior National Scholarship, the Silpeeshree Award, and the Padmashree Sanjukta Panigrahi Scholarship.

Mousumi Madhuchhanda Padhi

Moushumi Madhuchhanda Padhi started her dancing career at the age of three. She was initiated into dance under the guidance of Guru Anita Singhdeo. Her dance was further nutured by Guru Naba Kishore Mishra and Guru Sushant Kumar Dash. She is receiving advanced training under the tutelage and descerning guidance of the renowned Guru Bichitrananda Swain. She has performed in many of the major festivals like Konark Festival, Puri Beach Festival, Shreekshetra Utsav, Dhauli Festival, Rajgiri Festival, Kharavel Festivals etc. She has the privilege of performing at the International Odissi Festival, Bhubaneswar. She has a compelling and arresting stage presence with rare combination of intensity and spontaneity.

Binod Bihari Panda

Guru Binod Bihari Panda was trained under the able guidance of his father in Odissi Music at a very tender age. Later he joined Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya and was further refined under the guidance of Guru Gopal Chandra Panda, Guru Bhikari Bal and Guru Ramahari Das. He then joined Odissi Research Centre for higher studies under Guru Deepak Kumar Basu. He has received the Senior National Scholarship from the Government of India and is a regular performer at the All India Radio shows. He has worked with all renowned gurus such as Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, Guru Pankaj Charan Das, Guru Gangadhar Pradhan, and Guru Bichitrananda Swain. He has also participated as a solo performer and music composer in many shows in India and abrorad.

Bijaya Kumar Barik

Guru Bijaya Kumar Barik was groomed to play Mardal(Odissi drum) by noted "Gotipua" gurus Guru Rajiv Dalai and Guru Birabara Sahoo. Later he joined Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya and completed his Masters in Music in Classical Mardal. He has received further training under the able guidance of the legendary Guru Banamali Maharana and Guru Dhaneswar Swain. Guru Gangadhar Pradhan helped him to master the art of playing mardala in Odissi dance recitals. He has travelled widely and performed with almost all the gurus and senior Odissi dancers. He has attended major shows in many countries both in India and abroad. He has received Senior National Scholarship from the Government of India. He has played and performed in Mira Nair’s movie Kamasutra. Presently he is working as the chief instructor of Mardal at the Orissa Dance Academy.

Jyotindra Prasad Mishra

Jyotindra Prasad Mishra started his initial training in Classical Sitar under the guidance of many renowned Sitar gurus. He obtained his Masters degree in Sitar with gold medal fron Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh. He is a regular brodcaster in radio and T.V. since 1990. He has travelled widely all over the world as a solo performer and as an accompanist with most of the renowned gurus and leading dancers.

Jabahar Mishra

Jabahar Mishra started his training in flute from the Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Bhubaneswar and received advanced training from Prof. Mohini Mohan Pattnayak and Sri Ashok Banerjee. He completed his Masters in Music in flute and is a recipient of Senior Music Scholarship from the Govternment of India. He has been the winner of the National Classical Music Competition organized by the All India Radio. In addition, he has been one of the top performing artist at the All India Radio and Doordarshan. He has performed both solo and as accompanist with many great Odissi dancers and classical singers. He has participated in many classical concerts both in India and abroad.
